Corruption watchdog hears about secret recording linked to developer
At a corruption hearing on 24 August 2026, former politician Chris Spence said Charles Perrottet shared a recording in 2021 of fugitive developer Jean Nassif allegedly discussing paying building commissioner David Chandler to approve a building. Spence admitted Perrottet's habit of sharing material about Nassif's rivals "would look that way." The inquiry is checking whether Liberal figures got Nassif donations in return for favours.
