Deaths Continue in Gaza Despite Ceasefire Agreement

A ceasefire — a deal to stop major fighting — took hold in Gaza in October 2025. Since then, Gaza's Health Ministry says Israeli strikes have killed at least 1,286 Palestinians, about four to five each day. The latest strike, on 23 August 2026, killed one and hurt two. The agreement has not brought real peace.
