Seven People Killed in Wrong-Way Road Crash on A66

Seven people died when a car going the wrong way on the A66 in Teesside crashed head-on into a police vehicle at 3:39am on 22 August 2026. Two of the dead were police officers; five were in the other car. The IOPC, a body that checks police conduct, is investigating.
