Dad told off by police after leaving young son alone on Mount Fuji

Police told off a 48-year-old father from Nagoya after he left his 7-year-old son alone high on Mount Fuji in fog and rain, with just a soft drink and a snack. Staff at a mountain shelter found the boy and called police. The father, found three hours further up, apologised for his "rash" decision. No charges were filed.
