
Senator Wyden Wants Audit of Government Hacking Tools
Senator Ron Wyden has asked the GAO, a federal watchdog, to audit how the FBI, DEA, ICE, and Secret Service use hacking tools and spyware. Federal hacking has run for over two decades with no public accounting — unlike wiretaps, which get annual reports. DOJ and FBI have ignored transparency requests for years. Wyden wants an unclassified report.
