Treasury chief threatens sanctions on countries trading with Iran, won't say if China is included

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told CNBC that countries trading with Iran could face sanctions — penalties that cut them off from doing business with the United States. He said Iran will face the "greatest coordinated economic isolation" ever. China buys about 90 percent of Iran's oil. Bessent declined to say whether China would be targeted. He is expected to explain the plan Monday.
