Bessent threatens sanctions on nations trading with Iran, won't say if China is a target

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said nations — not just companies — that trade with Iran face secondary sanctions. He told CNBC Iran will face the "greatest coordinated economic isolation in the history of the world." China buys roughly 90 percent of Iranian oil. Bessent declined to say whether China itself would be targeted. He is expected to detail the plan Monday.
