Politician Says 'Enjoy the Heat' as Fires Burn British Homes

On 17 August, Reform UK politician Richard Tice said Britons should "enjoy the warm weather" and dismissed climate change fears as "doom and gloom." At the same time, wildfires were destroying homes in Stourbridge, drought (a long dry spell) threatened water supplies, and farmers faced one of the worst harvests ever. Labour's Bridget Phillipson called his comments "tone-deaf" and said he should apologise to firefighters. Reform UK has not responded.
