Labour Suspends MP Alaba Over Pandemic Loan Questions

Labour suspended MP Bayo Alaba after The Times questioned pandemic-era government loans tied to his businesses. Alaba confirmed taking two loans and says he is repaying them, but refused to name the companies or say whether they qualified. Two 2022 attempts to shut down his company Alaba Properties Ltd were blocked. He has referred himself to Labour's internal investigation.
