Nvidia Commits Over $100 Billion to Help Power OpenAI's New Ohio Data Center

Nvidia invested $1.5 billion in SB Energy on August 17, 2026, and will supply all the computing hardware for OpenAI's planned data center near Cincinnati, Ohio. The company also offered up to $105 billion in credit to build it. The site, on former government uranium enrichment land, will include a $33 billion natural gas power plant to run up to 8 gigawatts' worth of AI computers.
