Nvidia Invests $1.5B in SB Energy, Commits Up to $105B Credit for OpenAI's Ohio Data Center

Nvidia announced a $1.5 billion investment in SB Energy on August 17, 2026, making it the sole compute infrastructure supplier at OpenAI's planned Ports-Pike data center near Cincinnati, Ohio. Nvidia will extend up to $105 billion in credit to build the facility, securing up to 8 gigawatts of AI computing capacity. The site will include a 9.2 GW natural gas power plant costing $33 billion on former U.S. Department of Energy uranium enrichment land.
