SpaceX completed its $60 billion purchase of Cursor, a startup that builds AI tools helping programmers write code, on August 14, 2026. Cursor now belongs to SpaceXAI, a company created when SpaceX merged with AI firm xAI in July. The June-announced deal aims to challenge OpenAI and Anthropic in AI coding tools.
