Apple builds its own AI tool for China with Alibaba, becoming first US company allowed to offer one there

Apple created a custom AI assistant for China using technology from Alibaba, Reuters reports — making it the first US company allowed to offer its own AI tool in the country. The tool will arrive in a future iPhone software update. Apple had previously used Chinese AI services rather than making its own.
