UK Could See Its Hottest Summer Ever in 2026

Summer 2026 is on track to be the UK's hottest ever, The Guardian reported on 11 August. England had its warmest June on record, with three heatwaves counted by the Met Office. Last summer set the current record at 16.10°C on average — already topping the famous 1976 heat. The Met Office says extreme heat is now the UK's "normal."
