Microsoft's AI Assistant Copilot Faces Cuts and Consolidation

Microsoft executive Jacob Andreou told staff the company's AI assistant, Copilot, must "earn the right to exist in customers' lives." Microsoft is merging its separate home and work versions of Copilot and removing features like Group Chats and AI podcasts by August 18, 2026.
