France punishes its ambassador in Central African Republic

France is formally punishing its ambassador to the Central African Republic, Bruno Foucher, after an April 2026 inspection found he brought about 30 women aged 20–30 into his home over two years. Foreign Minister Barrot had praised ties in March, as France tries to push back against Russia's growing influence there.
