Software Update May Speed Up Container Systems

A Linux kernel developer proposed a change to how the operating system manages multiple isolated software environments. The update would reduce bottlenecks that currently slow down systems running containers—the lightweight virtual machines used in cloud computing and software testing. The proposal is undergoing review and may be included in a future kernel release.
