Luxon wins internal vote but won't face the media

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon survived a second vote of confidence from his own MPs in August 2026, 12 weeks before the election. After the first vote in April, he spoke to reporters at the Beehive. This time he took no questions and would not say who called the vote. National's polling remains weak.
