Governments team up to save Tomago aluminium smelter

The PM and NSW Premier are set to announce a joint rescue deal for the Tomago aluminium smelter after months of arguing over the details. NSW has already put aside $1.1 billion. The smelter's electricity contract ends in December 2028, and its owner, Rio Tinto, began talking to staff about its future last October.
