South Carolina Republicans Pick Senate Candidate in Special Primary

South Carolina Republicans voted in a special primary on Aug. 11, 2026, to choose a candidate for the U.S. Senate seat left open by Lindsey Graham's death on July 11. Darline Graham, the late senator's sister, was appointed to fill the seat and was backed by President Trump. She faced Reps. Ralph Norman and Russell Fry. If no one wins more than half the votes, a runoff is set for Aug. 25. The winner moves on to the Nov. 3 general election.
