ChatGPT growth slows as Google's Gemini matches its user count

OpenAI said ChatGPT took five months to grow from 900 million to 1 billion weekly users, calling that a slowdown. Google's Gemini also reached 1 billion monthly users this week, up from 400 million in about a year. The numbers are not a fair comparison: Gemini's total includes people who got it preinstalled on Android phones.
