Wenders Pulls 1975 Film After Decades of Pressure Over Sexualized Scene of 13-Year-Old Actress
The Wim Wenders Foundation announced Wednesday that it is temporarily withdrawing 'Falsche Bewegung' (1975) from circulation. Actress Nastassja Kinski has spent years calling for removal of a scene showing her topless at age 13 in her debut role. Wenders acknowledged such a scene would not be made today. The withdrawal is rare: filmmakers seldom voluntarily pull completed work. It raises questions about how the industry manages films from the 1960s–70s created under different ethical standards.
