GitHub Copilot Moves to Token-Based Pricing on June 1

GitHub is replacing Copilot's monthly subscription with usage-based billing starting June 1, 2026. Users will pay $0.01 per AI credit based on actual token consumption—input tokens for queries, output tokens for responses, and cached tokens for reused computations.
