Live Nation Keeps Ticketmaster in Federal Antitrust Settlement
The Department of Justice settled its antitrust case against Live Nation and Ticketmaster without requiring divestiture, allowing the merged company to maintain its integrated structure controlling venues, artist management, and ticketing. The settlement concludes litigation rooted in the 2010 merger, which the DOJ initially alleged violated the Clayton Act by suppressing competition in primary ticketing for major concert venues. More than two dozen states opposed the agreement, signaling skepticism about enforcement adequacy.
