Gaza Engineers Transform War Rubble Into Mortar-Free Interlocking Bricks

Suleiman Abu Hassanin's Green Rock project in Gaza processes 42 million tons of destroyed building debris into Lego-like interlocking blocks that require no mortar. The innovation bypasses a long-standing Israeli and Egyptian blockade restricting cement and conventional materials. Two-thirds of Gaza's buildings are damaged or destroyed. The mechanical interlocking system enables rapid assembly with minimal skilled labor and allows disassembly for reuse, converting debris from waste into primary reconstruction feedstock.
