Teen plaintiff drops Meta addiction case days before trial; Meta pays nothing while rivals settled

A 15-year-old Florida plaintiff withdrew his social media addiction case against Meta less than a week before a Los Angeles bellwether trial was set to resume. TikTok, Snap, and YouTube previously settled his claims for undisclosed amounts. Meta exits without paying. His attorneys cited the overall successful result and concerns about a grueling weekslong trial. Seven more bellwether cases remain pending.
