Attorney-General flags 'no body, no parole' bill as inconsistent with Bill of Rights Act

Attorney-General Chris Bishop has found the Concealment of Location of Victim Remains Bill inconsistent with the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act, on the grounds it would breach the right to be free from arbitrary detention. The bill, championed by National MP Tom Rutherford, would deny parole to murderers who refuse to disclose victim remains. Bishop called it "a line-ball call."
