Inflation hits 4.1 percent, Willis blames 'Trump spike' in fuel prices

Annual inflation rose to 4.1 percent, the highest in more than two years, StatsNZ figures show. Finance Minister Nicola Willis attributed the breach to a "Trump spike" in fuel prices, saying without petrol and diesel increases inflation would have been 2.9 percent — inside the Reserve Bank's 1–3 percent target band. Electricity prices rose 12 percent and rates 9 percent.
