US Redefines Iran War Mission Around Strait of Hormuz Oil Flow

Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on July 19 that the US mission in Iran now centers on keeping oil shipments flowing through the Strait of Hormuz, pivoting from the war's original objectives five months in. Wright said Iran refused to allow oil passage without attacks, so the US will secure flow "with or without Iranian cooperation." Sixteen US troops have died.
