UK Says East Jerusalem Consulate Building Will Stay Open as Mission

Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband said on 8 October Britain's Consulate General building in East Jerusalem will stay open as a UK mission, independent and serving Palestinians, after talks with Israel. Israel had ordered closure over UK sanctions on West Bank settlements. London plans to rebuild staffing after recent withdrawals.
