India Rejects Musk Claim Oligarchs Are Blocking Starlink

India's Communications Ministry on Oct. 8, 2026 dismissed Elon Musk's claim that 'certain oligarchs' are blocking Starlink, the satellite-internet service, calling it 'baseless and misconceived.' Musk had called the delay a 'crime against the people of India.' The ministry said three satellite operators face the same security checks. Starlink has awaited licences since 2022.
