
Government reinstates ban on PEN electrical switching after safety warnings
The New Zealand Government has reinstated the ban on PEN switching in electrical wiring rules, MBIE has confirmed. Energy Minister Simon Watts said he was taking feedback seriously. The reversal follows warnings from the Electrical Inspectors Association that removing protections could leave systems lethal. MBIE said further work on risks and benefits will continue.
