OpenAI Disclosed Confidential Internal Records in Musk Lawsuit Defense
OpenAI published emails, board minutes, and internal correspondence from 2017–2018 on a public webpage while defending itself against Elon Musk's lawsuit over the company's shift to for-profit operations. The disclosure, unusual for defendants in active litigation, revealed Musk's demands for majority equity and CEO control during the nonprofit-to-commercial transition—demands the board rejected. Musk withdrew the lawsuit June 11 without resolution.
