National pledges no new taxes, surplus in 2028/29 and spending below 30 percent of GDP

National has unveiled an 11-page economic plan pledging no new taxes, a return to surplus in 2028/29 and core Crown spending below 30 percent of GDP. The party announced the plan on 28 September. Its previous pledge was to drive spending down towards 30 percent.
