National promises no new taxes, surplus in 2028/29 and lower Crown spending

National has released an 11-page economic plan. It promises no new taxes, a return to surplus in 2028/29, and core Crown spending — the Government's main spending — below 30 percent of GDP, the value of the economy. Announced on 28 September. It had previously promised to push spending towards 30 percent.
