Birmingham pair jailed for life for murder of vulnerable Rubin Blount

Kenneth Newton, 58, and Melanie James, 64, from Birmingham were sentenced to life with a minimum 21 years at Stafford Crown Court for murdering vulnerable 28-year-old Rubin Blount. Newton, Blount's stepbrother, and James, his partner, abused Blount at a Tamworth property before his death on 30 November 2022. A jury convicted them in July.
