Instagram will cut algorithmic reach for unlabeled AI-generated profiles

Instagram announced it will limit the reach of accounts that fail to self-label as "AI-generated profile." Non-compliant posts will be excluded from Reels and Explore recommendations but remain visible to existing followers. Falsely flagged accounts can appeal. The penalty targets synthetic personas, not creators using AI-assisted production workflows.
