Badenoch removes Patel as shadow foreign secretary, Tugendhat takes role
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has removed Dame Priti Patel as shadow foreign secretary, the BBC reported. Tom Tugendhat, a former leadership contender, replaces her. Patel announced her departure on X, saying she would remain MP for Witham and take a new role building ties with centre-right parties abroad. The reshuffle follows Claire Coutinho's maternity leave and Sir James Cleverly's exit to pursue a London mayoral bid.
