NZ First to campaign on abolishing regional councils, Jones says

NZ First deputy leader Shane Jones told about 130 people at the Victory Christian Centre in Lower Hutt on 30 August 2026 that the party will campaign on abolishing regional councils. Jones said National's regional reorganisation approach never had NZ First's backing and its mandate should be tested at the election.
