One Nation wins first WA lower house seat, flipping safe Labor electorate of Secret Harbour

One Nation's Luke Herdegen has claimed victory in the WA seat of Secret Harbour, delivering the party its first ever lower house seat in the state. With 80 per cent counted, Herdegen led Labor's Georgia Tree 57–42 after preferences — overturning an 11.5 per cent Labor margin. The by-election was triggered by senior minister Paul Papalia's mid-term retirement. The result has drawn national attention ahead of Victoria's November state election.
