Former a16z Bio Lead Vijay Pande Launches AI-Native VC Firm With No Associates

Vijay Pande, who built a16z's bio and health practice into nearly $4 billion, co-founded VZVC after leaving a16z in June 2025. The firm makes only a handful of concentrated bets per year, employs no associates, and relies heavily on AI for day-to-day operations. VZVC is currently raising its first fund, focused on AI and consumer health.
