Greenland Won't Rule on Genocide Finding After Expert Panel Splits on Danish Forced Contraception Programme

Greenland's government says it cannot conclude whether Denmark's forced contraception of Inuit women constituted genocide, after a four-member expert panel split into rival reports. Danish doctors fitted 4,500 women and girls, some as young as 13, with IUDs without consent between 1966 and 1970. Denmark has apologised and passed compensation. A reconciliation commission will now address the dispute.
