Uganda's Tooro King Oyo Nyimba, Once World's Youngest Monarch, Dies at 34

Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the 13th ruler of Uganda's Tooro Kingdom, died August 27, 2026, at age 34. He ascended the throne as an infant in 1995 after his father's death, becoming the world's youngest reigning monarch. The kingdom has assured continuity of the crown. His reign spanned Uganda's entire post-restoration era of cultural monarchies.
