MoD spends £6m on backpack paragliders to fly British troops 200 miles behind enemy lines

The MoD has awarded a £6m contract for backpack-sized powered paragliders to insert Royal Marine and Parachute Regiment troops up to 200 miles into hostile territory. The BBC reported the titanium-framed machines, made by Wiltshire startup Blakcro, assemble in eight minutes and launch on foot. Trials begin in the coming months.
