Meta's settlement with 52 state and territorial attorneys general ties roughly $5.3 billion of its up-to-$18 billion payout to TikTok and YouTube agreeing to comparable teen safety terms. If they comply, per-platform daily screentime caps drop to 60 minutes for a decade and nighttime access blocks extend from 10 PM to 7 AM. Meta published an open letter urging both platforms to join. A judge still must approve the terms.
