Forty Asylum-Seeking Children Still Missing From UK Hotels, Three Years On

Forty unaccompanied asylum-seeking children who disappeared from Home Office-run hotels remain unaccounted for, the UK Joint Committee on Human Rights reported on 27 August 2026. Of 472 children who went missing in total, 432 have been located. The Home Office's hotel use was ruled unlawful in 2023. The committee has demanded quarterly updates on efforts to find those still missing.
