Ikea Built a Stool Using Xbox Controller 3D Design Files

Ikea's Yxstaby collection, unveiled at Gamescom on August 26, 2026, includes a thumbstick-inspired stool built from original Xbox controller 3D design files. The stool tilts with the user the way a thumbstick moves. Designer David Wahl said he queued all night 25 years ago for the first Xbox. The collaboration extends beyond logo licensing into actual hardware design DNA.
