Gold Surged 13% in Under a Month Before Jackson Hole Pullback

Spot gold rose roughly 13% in under a month, from about $4,105 on July 30 to $4,680.70 on August 24 — a three-month high — as easing Fed rate-hike expectations pushed Treasury yields and the dollar lower. Gold then slipped on August 25 as yields and oil prices rose. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is scheduled to speak Friday at Jackson Hole (Aug. 27–29), whose theme is "Financial Innovation: Implications for Payments and Policy."
