Instagram Launches 'First Draft' for Automated Reels Editing on iPhone

Instagram announced First Draft on August 25, 2026, a Reels editing feature that automatically trims clips and removes pauses to assemble a first-pass cut in under 10 seconds. Available initially on iPhone, it is accessible from the in-app camera or Reels gallery. Similar tools already exist in Adobe Firefly's Quick Cuts and CapCut's Auto Cut.
