A66 crash arrests rise to 17 as police probe organised crime network behind seven deaths

Five more arrests on 25 August brought the total detained to 17 over the A66 crash near Middlesbrough that killed seven, including PC Matthew Blades and PC Tom Clough. The pursued VW Passat's occupants had links to organised crime and 37 previous convictions. Cleveland Police are investigating the wider criminal network, not just the collision.
